About Bill Ilkov

Bill Ilkov is a Toronto-based Canadian serial entrepreneur, operator and private investor with experience across software development, ATM infrastructure, manufacturing, metal roofing, marketing, print, real estate, digital assets and private investment.

Bill Ilkov’s career began in technology, but it never stayed in one lane. After graduating as a Systems Analyst, Bill recognized that formal education alone would not be enough to separate him from others entering the same field.

He pursued additional Microsoft specialty training, including MCSE, MCDBA and multiple other technical programs. That early decision became a pattern throughout his business career: when a market required more knowledge, Bill went and acquired it.

Technology foundation and early software experience

Bill’s first professional role was in advanced flight simulation software. The environment demanded precision, reliability and technical problem-solving. Although he was there for less than a year, the experience confirmed that he could operate in complex software environments and that he wanted to build something of his own.

He then founded his own software development company. One of the company’s important projects involved developing software for an ATM business, which became the opening to a larger operating opportunity.

Building beyond software

After developing software for an ATM company, Bill launched his own ATM operation. The company expanded across Ontario with a 24-person team and required a mix of technology, logistics, service coordination, customer relationships, location partnerships and recurring revenue management.

Bill later built and operated a metal roofing company that expanded throughout Ontario and British Columbia. The business grew through multiple offices and was staffed by more than 200 people across in-house employees and contractors.

To support the roofing operation, Bill also owned a stamping plant that helped manufacture materials for the business. This added a manufacturing layer to his operating experience, including production, fabrication, scheduling, supply chain and quality control.

Marketing, print, real estate and investment

Bill’s experience also includes ownership of a marketing company and a print company, giving him practical exposure to customer acquisition, brand positioning, campaign execution, production, quality control and business-to-business service.

Over time, Bill moved deeper into real estate investment. He has owned a large portfolio of properties and held a real estate license for approximately five years, developing a practical understanding of property ownership, transaction dynamics, financing, market cycles and long-term value creation.

Digital assets and private investment

Bill remains active in software development and digital opportunity through ownership of more than 200 domains. His private investment approach is shaped by first-hand operating experience, giving him a practical view of people, systems, execution, cash flow and risk.
